xAI says consumer usage is shared across features in a weekly pool. At the paid-plan limit, usage pauses unless you wait for reset, buy Extra Usage Credits, enable auto top-up, or upgrade. Extra credits are web-only, start at $5, and expire after one year. xAI also documents a 720p-to-480p fallback after the 720p cap and says consumer output carries a watermark that cannot be removed.

Resolution and duration
The original model supports 480p and 720p. Video 1.5 supports 480p, 720p and 1080p for text-to-video and image-to-video. Generated clips can be 1–15 seconds.
Workflow restrictions
On Video 1.5, reference-to-video is capped at 720p. Editing keeps the source duration (maximum 8.7 seconds) and matches input resolution up to 720p. Own-audio upload is restricted to trusted partners; preset voices are supported.

How much does Grok Imagine video cost?
